Research and Development

Ongoing developments at FAKRO are thanks to our commitment to ideas and forward thinking. For example, our research and development department is made up of than 100 engineers, whose ideas are converted into innovative solutions and new products. FAKRO has filed dozens of patent applications and develops new roof-window solutions through its R&D team.

Our original solutions have led to improved product safety. For example, we have developed an innovative system which reinforces a window's structure called topSafe, that in turn increases its resistance against burglary. In addition, products such as the preSelect and proSky roof windows reflect FAKRO’s ongoing commitment to product development and technological advancement.

As a company, FAKRO not only exports roof windows to many countries around the world, but also supports and nurtures creative ideas by Polish engineers. FAKRO contributes Polish engineering and manufacturing expertise to the international roof-window sector.

During our research, state-of-the-art equipment is used for product design. These include a technologically advanced 3D printer, climate test chamber and an infrared camera used to tests a window’s thermal parameters.
